Yesterday, I was looking for something to snack on but, the only thing I saw in the fridge was a few slices of bread, some eggs, and some left over condensed milk. I don't want to eat a boring snack. I remembered that a group in class sells a french toast so, I tried to make one. I read a recipe that needs the following:
6 sliced Texas toast or thick cut bread
2 large eggs
1/4 cup milk or cream
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
splash of vanilla extract
butter and vegetable oil for cooking
It is from the Crouton Crackerjacks. Sadly, I can't find a sugar in the kitchen and we don't have milk and there's no store near our house where I can buy some liquid milk. I decided that I'll just use a milk powder instead of a liquid milk (the brand is Bear Brand) that I bought in a near sari-sari store that costs 13 php. According to Google, it's $0.25. I think it is the Google Currency Converter. Going back, I also don't have cinnamon.
Here I am, experimenting for something to eat.
The only ingredients I have:
5 bread slices
2 eggs
33g milk powder
1/4 can of condensed milk
1 cup of warm water
That's all.
First, combine the milk powder and the warm water in a small bowl. I used my mom's mug instead.
In a bowl, beat the eggs then, add the milk mixture. Stir. While stirring, I added the condensed milk. Dip the breads. Lastly fry.
This is my first French Toast ♥
I enjoyed making it ♥♥♥ I shared the 5 toasts to my sisters, Carla and Claire, and to my mom. Dad is at work so, he didn't get a chance to taste it. Carla likes it ♥
If you are going to try this recipe, I am telling you that it'll not as good as what you make and others. This is just a test. But, if you like it then tell me ♥
